Velvet Vixen (“the Boutique”) Resale Terms and Conditions.
Please read these terms and conditions before using our service.

Welcome to Velvet Vixen. 

By using our website and /or using our service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by our terms and conditions.  


Unfortunately, we cannot accept all requests to sell via our resale service as we must ensure an even spread of designer inspired event wear, that is attire that has not been purchased on the high street but instead is bespoke / couture or a boutique bought label. The resale service exists for Mother of the Bride / Groom, Formal & Special Occasion event wear.  Special occasion includes (but is not limited to) attire typically worn to weddings, the races, christenings etc.  by adhering to the above “the Boutique” can ensure it stocks a broad range of special occasion types, brands and sizes.


Pricing: Before pricing your item, (on the reseller request form) you should conduct your own research into your item, remembering it has been previously worn. If, on receiving your request, we shall either;

  1. Accept your item and your proposed price
  2. Accept your item subject to price adjustment
  3. Decline your item  (due to the aforementioned reasoning)

Commission: A commission of 30% will be deducted from the sale price of each item sold through Velvet Vixen. This commission covers boutique fees and handling costs associated with the sale.

Condition of Items: All items must be dry cleaned and fully inspected by you, before you submit your request (via the website) for the resale service. Items should be free from any defects or damage and in excellent condition. Once received, Items not matching the condition, detailed in the application request, will not be sold and you will be required to collect your item within 7 days.

Payment: Payments for sold items will be processed within 31 days after the sale date. Velvet Vixen will seek bank details and pay via bank transfer. No bank details will be held on file for you, therefore each time you sell through Velvet Vixen these details will be required.

Try-Ons: Please be aware that items submitted to the boutique will be tried on by potential buyers. This is a common practice to ensure a proper fit. Velvet Vixen will handle items with care, but we cannot be held responsible for any wear resulting from try-ons.

Unsold Items: Unless agreed otherwise by both parties, If your item is not sold within 3 months (“the Designated Period”) of the date the item is received by Velvet Vixen, you will be required to pay postage for the return of your item. Items will be returned to you without undergoing dry cleaning.  If your item is unsold we will contact you, via the email provided, detailing the postage cost and bank transfer details. On receipt of postage payment your item will be promptly dispatched. If items remain uncollected after 3 attempt’s to contact you (or 1 month after the end date) we will responsibly dispose of your item.

Withdrawal of Items by you: Once items are submitted to Velvet Vixen, the item cannot be withdrawn from the boutique until the expiry of the “Designated Period”.  

Ownership: You retain ownership of your items until they are sold. Velvet Vixen will act as an agent for the sale only and therefore it is your responsibility to have the item appropriately insured.

Agreement Duration: This agreement is ongoing unless terminated by either party. Velvet Vixen reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions with reasonable notice provided to the reseller.

Indemnification: You agree to indemnify Velvet Vixen against any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising out of the sale of your items through the boutique.

Governing Law: These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of Northern Ireland.

By proceeding as a reseller with Velvet Vixen, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
